Final assembly
This page explains the final assembly of the node
The lid
For a guide on how to create the spectrometer and light sensor for the lid check the sensor section
On the opposite side of the spectrometer and the light sensor glue the solarpanels into the lid.
Inside of lid.
The box
Glue the ADC board holder to the left wall of the box (next to the ADC connector)
Placement of ADC holder. Next glue the main board holder on the left side of the wall opposite of the connectors (it may be smart to put the antenna inn now because it can be hard to insert later)
Placement of microcontroller holder. Glue two ziptie anchors to the right wall of the box and tie the power and data cables to them.
Top view of inside box. Cut and strip the ends of the I2C STEMMA Cable wires used for the lid sensors and solder them to the top power rail of the main board and the SDC/SDA 4 and 5 pins on the i2c multiplexer from the back. Power - red wire GND - black wire SDC - yellow wire SDA - blue wire
Next solder the i2c lines from the ADC board into the SDC/SDA 3 pins on the i2c multiplexer from the back. (cut the wires down to a reasonable length before soldering) SDC - yellow wire SDA - green wire
Next find the i2c wires connected to the connector to the right of the analog connector and solder them to the SDC/SDA 2 pins on the i2c multiplexer from the back. (cut the wires down to a reasonable length before soldering) SDC - yellow wire SDA - green wire
Solder the next connector to the SDC/SDA 1 pins on the i2c multiplexer from the back. (cut the wires down to a reasonable length before soldering) SDC - yellow wire SDA - green wire
Last solder the remaining connector to the SDC/SDA 0 pins on the i2c multiplexer from the back. (cut the wires down to a reasonable length before soldering) SDC - yellow wire SDA - green wire
Backside of the mainboard, soldered. Front view of the mainboard, soldered. Now put the main board and the ADC board into their board holders.
Top view, adc in the holder and main board in the holder. Cut down and strip the power cables into resonable lengths and solder them to the top power rail on the main board.
Now solder the wires from the solar panels into the microcontroller Red wire - VS pin on microcontroller Black wire - GND
Put the battery pack into the right side of the box and connect the power wires to the screw terminal.
connect the stemma qt cables into the sensors in the lid. If its hard to connect them try using some twezers.
Next go onto programming the CubeCell.
Then turn on the box by pressing the power button on the battery.
